Rules and Regulations

Applicant Eligibility

Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States and be at least 17 years of age.

Incoming freshmen must show proof of admission into a university/college for the 2024 academic year, by either sending a copy of the admission letter or requesting a university official email stating their admission.

Current university students include freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior who will be enrolled full-time during until December 2024.

Minimum GPA required for current university students is 2.25.

The funds will be awarded by VIDGO TV in the form of a scholarship, to be applied to qualified expenses, which include, but are not limited to: tuition and fees, room and board, books, and other miscellaneous university-related expenses. The payment will be disbursed to the winner’s university no later than October 1, 2024, after a team of judges announce the winning essay on September 30, 2024.

Judges will look at several criteria when judging the essay, including:

• Critical thinking skills
• Research skills
• Creativity
• Organization of ideas
• Use of evidence
• Logical reasoning
• Persuasiveness in the argument

To be eligible, the university or college must be listed under the U.S. Department of Education.

VIDGO TV reserves the right to change or terminate this scholarship program without any notice. All content submitted as a part of this essay contest belongs to VIDGO TV and may be reused, without prior notice, as part of promotional or advertising materials, in any of the offline or digital properties affiliated to VIDGO TV.

Terms and conditions

1. The promoter of this essay contest is VidgoTV.com. Offices located at 175 Richland Pl, Monroe, LA 71203
2. No entry fee is required for this contest.
3. Applicants must submit their essay using the form at http://www.vidgotv.com/scholarship/ and provide us with the contact information so we can notify the winner via email or letter no later than September 30, 2024. In case the winner cannot be contacted or does not accept the funds from the university within 30 days of the announcement, the prize may be withdrawn.
4. The scholarship must be applied for qualified expenses only. NO CASH. Scholarships are not transferable.
5. The winner will also be announced after September 30, 2024 on the scholarship website, at http://www.vidgotv.com/scholarship.
6. VIDGO TV bears no responsibility for entries not received, due to the technology or any other issues that applicants may experience during the entry process.
7. We reserve the right to change the terms of this contest in case of force majeure, any event beyond our control, such as an act of God, including but not limited to, fires, explosions, earthquakes, drought, tidal waves and floods; war, acts or threats of terrorism.
8. Terms and conditions of this essay contest shall in all respects be governed by the laws of the state of Louisiana, U.S., regardless of the laws that might be applicable under principles of conflicts of law. The parties agree that the Louisiana courts located in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all controversies arising under this agreement and agree that venue is proper in those courts.
9. Entry into the competition constitutes the acceptance of these terms and conditions.
